Condo Governance
Carleton Condominium Corporation 157 is managed by a Board of Directors who are elected to 3 year terms. Our current board members are Ron Kelly, Suzanne Langlois, Lise Parent, Brenda Larche and Luc Charest. They meet monthly to address member concerns, review financial issues and to action any improvements required. They host a virtual Annual General Meeting each spring that all residents are invited to attend. This meeting is for Owners and is generally held in late March. During the meeting new Board members are voted in, the new Budget is discussed, updates are given from each member on their office, completed and upcoming projects and a question and answer period is offered.
Tenants are welcome to attend the AGM but only unit owners may vote. If you are a unit owner who is unable to attend the AGM, please complete the proxy document included with the notice of meeting. This document authorizes another person to exercise your vote at the AGM.
Our Property Manager is Eric Marques, part of Premiere Property Management Associates.
Garbage Collection
Although the City of Ottawa collects garbage every 2 weeks, the Condo Board has contracted to have garbage pickup the opposite weeks. You can download a collection calendar or request a paper copy from the City. Don't have a black, blue or green bin? You can get them from the City of Ottawa. Click on New home/Moved or Additional Bin Required to make a request online. You can also call 3-1-1.
How often is my garbage collected?
- Garbage is collected every week - the city collects one week and our contractors collect the other week.
- Check your Collection Calendar to confirm your collection schedule.
- Green bins and yard waste bags are collected every week.
- Recyclables are picked up on alternating weeks (black bin one week, blue bin the next).
- Blue bins and garbage are picked up the same week.
- Leaf and yard waste is collected with your green bin.
- Only non-recyclable items should be placed in the garbage.
- Not sure where an item belongs? Please check the Waste Explorer.
When and where to put your garbage
- Residents must not place debris, refuse, garbage, appliances or furniture on common elements, including exclusive use areas.
- Put garbage at the curb any time after 6:00 p.m. the evening prior to your collection day and no later than 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
- Place bags or cans on the designated locations.
- Garbage must be in properly tied plastic bags not exceeding 33 pounds in weight. City guidelines apply and must be followed.
- All garbage and recycling containers must be kept in the unit or in the rear yard.
How to package your garbage
- Do not put recyclables, organics or yard waste in plastic bags.
- To avoid collections issues, please do not use shopping bags or small white garbage bags when setting your garbage at the curb.
- Do not use cardboard boxes for garbage. Cardboard boxes are a recyclable item and must be placed in the black bin.
- Make sure material is packaged or contained securely in a plastic garbage bag or garbage can to avoid loose debris.
- All garbage cans, bags or boxes should not weigh more than 15 Kg (33 lb).
- Separate all broken glass from your garbage and place it in a cardboard box clearly labeled 'broken glass'. Doing otherwise can result in serious injuries to collection operators
- Sawdust, ashes and other material of similar nature go in your green bin. NO hot ashes please.
- Add leaf and yard waste to your green bin. Do not mix leaf and yard waste, recyclables and garbage together.
- All carpet should be tied and bundled. Bundles should be less than 1.2 m (4 ft.) in length, less than 60 cm (2 ft.) in diameter and less than 15 kg (33 lb.) in weight.
Acceptable metal or plastic garbage bag/container

Disposing of bulky items
You can keep your gently used possessions out of the landfill and help others. Check the item in the Waste Explorer for a list of charitable organizations that accept donations. Please remember to phone ahead before returning an item.
Disposing of e-Waste
Electronic items such as: computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, disk drives, fax machines, televisions, radios, telephones, cell phones, batteries etc. must not be placed in the garbage container because they contain valuable components and material that can be safely recycled to manufacture new products.
Electronic items can be dropped off at participating retailers. To find out where you can return your electronics, search the Waste Explorer. The Best Buy on Coventry Road accepts all kinds of electronics and small appliances - their bin is in the lobby between the doors.
Visitor Parking
Visitor Parking is reserved for visitors. Visitor spots have yellow painted curbs and a yellow V painted on the asphalt. Residents are not to use visitor parking and can be ticketed and/or removed at any time of day or night. If your spot is occupied by another vehicle then simply call and register your car at the number listed below with an explanation. Please be advised that the tickets will now be City of Ottawa tickets and if not paid can cause some concern to individuals when renewing their license.
